Appointed to the US Senate in January 2018 to fill the seat vacated by Al Franken and retained her seat in a special election in November 2018, winning 53% of the vote, 10.5 points over her Republican opponent
Committees: Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Agriculture, Nutrition and Forest; and Indian Affairs
Has an undergraduate degree from Stanford, and an MBA from Dartmouth Tuck; worked in marketing at General Mills, and was a vice president of Planned Parenthood of Minnesota
Was Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor and prior to that Chief of Staff to the mayor of Minneapolis and the Governor of Minnesota
